A Long Walk to Water

Nya, a member of the Nuer tribe, must go to the pond with a bucket, to fetch water everyday. She walks for total eight hours a day.

Salva, a member of the Dinka tribe, flees his war filled country. He is a refugee with nowhere to go. Determined to travel across Africa on foot, searching for safety, freedom, and most importantly his family.

         Two stories… one country: Sudan

The narrative follows the two paths of two characters, one happening in 2008 and one in 1985 with the same message. Both hope their country may help them find the future they want.

This book is so impactful on my life and it made me realize how lucky I am to live in such a wonderful country. That wraps things up for today, make sure to like, follow and check out my last post! Au revoir!
